Carson City arrests: Motorist who reports hit and run crash in drive-thru jailed for alleged DUI
A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, a Carson City sheriff's deputy booking report states.
According to the arrest report, at around 5:42 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the front counter of the sheriff's office at 911 Musser Street for a report of a possible hit and run.
The female reporting party told dispatch she had chased a vehicle that allegedly hit her. Dispatch advised the woman said she then flagged down the Dodge truck and told the driver to go to the sheriff's office.
Deputies arrived and noticed a female get out of the driver's seat of a four-door sedan. The female then began pointing at a man standing next to a white Dodge truck. The woman was clearly agitated and was talking in a loud tone, stating the man in the white truck hit her, the arrest report states.
The officer asked the woman to walk toward the patrol vehicle so he could attempt to calm her down. The woman stated she was hit by the white Dodge truck in the drive-thru at Jack in the Box.
While speaking with the woman, the deputy noticed her eyes were extremely red, bloodshot and watery. The officer could also smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the woman's breath.
The deputy asked the woman how much she had to drink as she stated "as much as that guy," the arrest report states and she pointed to the driver of the white Dodge pickup.
Other deputies on scene looked at both vehicles and did not observe any damage. The driver of the white Dodge was also sober and not under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, the report states.
A deputy asked the woman if she would participate in standardized field sobriety tests. She agreed and advised she had a pre-existing neck injury and that she took medication for bi-polar disorder.
The woman showed signs of impairment during the testing. She initially refused a preliminary breath test, and was told she was under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. She provided a preliminary breath test of .149. She was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,137.
