Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Deputies shut down drug house with warrant, six jailed

Three were arrested Saturday on felony suspicion of maintaining a drug house after deputies received a warrant to search an apartment unit in an East Carson City complex considered a high crime area for drug sales, a deputy with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team said.

Joshua Wood and Dakota Knight, both 24, and Daylin Gibson, 31, were each booked on felony suspicion of maintaining a drug house, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest report.

A 39-year-old Gardnerville man, Brian Warren Gribbin, who was at the apartment at the time the search warrant was approved, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest report.

Two others inside the apartment, a 29-year-old woman, and a 27-year-old man, were also arrested on misdemeanor charges. The woman was arrested on a charge of violation of a suspended sentence and possession of drug paraphernalia. The man was arrested on possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the arrest report.

The warrant was executed at an apartment just after 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of Woodside Drive. During the search, officers recovered 68 grams of marijuana, numerous plastic baggies, two digital scales, a pay/owe sheet with a list of names and money amounts, $430 cash in a safe, prescription pills, marijuana grinders, and more than two dozen glass marijuana pipes.

In other arrests:
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 11:25 p.m. in the area of Como and Carson Meadows on suspicion of driving with a revoked license, disobedience to traffic control device and having no proof of insurance. Bail: $1,461.

— A 20-year-old Dayton man was booked into jail Friday, 5:45 p.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Feb. 9, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.

— A 38-year-old Carson City woman turned herself into jail deputies Friday, 3:10 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued April 8, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. She was booked and released.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 6:21 p.m. in the 600 block of Clearview Drive on two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued March 30 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $10,000.

— A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday, 11:37 a.m. in the 300 block of Burton Street on a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was found to be in possession of glass pipe with white burned residue inside. Bail: $1,137.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 7:20 a.m. in the 200 block of South Richmond Avenue on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. The man had allegedly got into a fight with his twin brother. During a heated exchange, the suspect allegedly threatened his brother with a knife and hit him in the face. Bail: $3,137.

— A 32-year-old Carson City man, Mazzerick Nelson, was arrested Friday, 1:33 a.m. in the area of William and State streets on felony suspicion of possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription and four misdemeanor charges: violation of bail conditions, speeding, not having a driver’s license in possession, no insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle. Bail: $6,546.

— A 50-year-old Reno man was arrested Friday, 9:32 a.m. in the area of Hot Springs Road and Pine Street on two misdemeanor failure to appear warrants and driving on a suspended license. Bail: $878.

— A 52-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 12:51 a.m. in the 1600 block of Airport Road on misdemeanor suspicion of a second DUI and criminal contempt. According to the arrest report an officer stopped the man suspected of driving under the influence. When interacting with the man the officer could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from him. He had red, watery eyes and slurred his speech when communicating.

The man told the officer he had consumed three or four beers a few hours prior. He submitted to standardized field sobriety tests and all tests were unsatisfactory. He was arrested and taken to jail where he voluntarily agreed to provide a blood sample.
Prior to releasing the man to jail staff, dispatch informed the man was on Alternative Sentencing and had a condition to obey all laws. He was also charged with criminal contempt. Bail: $3,137.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 1:37 a.m. in the 4800 block of Beckworth on misdemeanor suspicion of trespassing. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area for a noise complaint. A reporting witness said there were approximately 80 juveniles smoking marijuana and drinking.

When police arrived the juveniles refused to open the door and approximately 30 were seen jumping fences in the backyard. A deputy located four juveniles in front a home.

While speaking with the juveniles, a homeowner alerted officers there were juveniles hiding in the backyard and one hiding under a vehicle parked in the garage. The 18-year-old said he started jumping fences with his friends when deputies arrived and then went and hid in the garage. Bail: $242.

— A A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 2:29 a.m. in the area of Bel Air Way and Sherman Lane on a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended registration and a failure to appear warrant issued in October 2015: Bail: $327.

— A 40-year-old Carson City man was booked Saturday, 6:30 a.m. into Carson City jail on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Walker River Justice Court. Bail: $290.

— A 45-year-old Carson City man, William Dale French, was arrested Saturday, 5:20 p.m. in the area of Fall and Lee streets on felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of alternative sentencing and possession of marijuana. Bail: $5,574.

— A 28-year-old Carson City woman, Alanna Nicole Pabon, was arrested Saturday, 8:30 p.m. in the area of Desatoya and Stanford on a felony failure to appear warrant issued in November 2008 out of Sparks Township Court. Bail: $2,500.

— A 32-year-old Dayton woman was arrested Saturday, 3:22 p.m. on misdemeanor charges of not stopping at a stop sign, no insurance, open container, suspended registration and violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $2,136.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:39 p.m. in the area of Mayflower way and Bel Air Way on a misdemeanor charge of minor consuming alcohol. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area in reference to a domestic dispute. Officers made contact with the man as he was walking. He continued to walk when officers commanded him to stop. He became verbally abusive and yelled profanities. He was asked what had happened and if he had been fighting with anyone. He replied no. He provided a preliminary breath test of .184. Bail: $242.

— A 47-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday, 2:15 p.m. in the area of Columbia Way on suspicion of DUI. $1,137.

— A 45-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 1:35 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Division Street on misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, and violation of bail conditions. According to the arrest report, a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop in the area of North Carson Street and Winnie Lane.

The deputy activated his overhead lights to conduct the traffic stop. The vehicle began to speed up as it turned onto Winnie Lane. The officer informed dispatch that the vehicle had failed to yield. The driver turned southbound onto North Division and the officer sounded his siren for the second time to get her to stop. The woman pulled into the garage of her residence on North Division Street and attempted to walk to her house. The officer asked the woman to stop and to talk.

She said she wanted to go inside and sleep. The officer informed her that he had been following her since North Carson and Winnie Lane. The woman told the officer she did not see him and wanted to go home. She had slurred speech and an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath.

The office asked if should would conduct field sobriety tests. The woman agreed and performed unsatisfactorily on the tests. She provided a preliminary breath same of .266 and was arrested. Dispatch informed the officer she was on Alternative Sentencing with a “no alcohol” clause. At jail she provide two breath samples with results of .259 and .262. Bail: $4,137.

UPDATE: Carson City Sheriff's Office is investigating a credit card skimmer device discovered Thursday at an East Carson City business.

UPDATE 9:38PM: The fire on East Long Street was on the back patio of a two-story four-plex, according to Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Jon Pedrini. Damage was contained to the exterior patio and siding. There were no injuries. Three occupants were displaced.

When firefighters arrived, a neighbor and Carson City Sheriff's deputies had used garden hoses and fire extinguishers to knock much of it out, said Pedrini. The cause is under investigation.

MINDEN, Nev. — Austin's House, a nonprofit that provides emergency shelter for children in the northern Nevada region and beyond, is in the final weeks of ticket sales for its annual fundraising gala. The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and Mountain Area Preservation reached a settlement agreement this week over a lawsuit brought by MAP against affordable housing policies approved by the TRPA Governing Board in December 2023. The litigation sought to block new land use policies in the highly protected Lake Tahoe Region that combined incentives for water quality, transportation, and workforce housing improvements, according to TRPA.
