Carson City residents offered no-cost landfill vouchers as part of spring cleanup week
Carson City Public Works announced its Spring cleanup week will offer no-cost landfill disposal vouchers to local residents.
As part of the spring cleanup effort designated April 15-19, Carson City residents will see a voucher for free disposal on their April or May utility bill.
Tenants may also pick up a voucher at the Public Works Department office, 3505 Butti Way. A photo ID showing residency in Carson City is required. Vouchers can be used at the landfill now until June 29, 2019, Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The one-time voucher will be collected by a landfill attendant at the time of use. The conditions are the following:
— Limited to one residential load, maximum load is one pickup bed and one small, 4 by 8-foot trailer.
— No commercial loads.
— Oil and anti-freeze recycling is limited to 5 gallons each.
— A maximum of 3 automotive batteries allowed.
— A maximum of four tires, auto and light truck only.
— No household hazardous waste such as paint, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers and liquids. To drop off items for free disposal call (775) 283-7380 or (775) 283-7390 to make an appointment. Household hazardous waste cannot be accepted without an appointment.
All loads must be covered at the time they arrive at the landfill to prevent blowing trash.
