According to a Lyon County Sheriff’s Office news release, a suspect has been taken into custody involved with the abduction of Naomi Irion which occurred in the early morning hours of March 12.
Law enforcement stated they are still actively searching for Irion, and stated that a pickup truck that was possibly involved in the case has been impounded.
Law enforcement has been searching for 18-year-old Irion since she went missing from the Walmart parking lot.
Irion was last seen in her car in the parking lot while she waited for a shuttle that would take her to work at the Reno Industrial Center where she works at Panasonic. The shuttle usually arrives sometime around 5:30 a.m.
The suspect, who was said to be approximately 6 feet tall wearing a gray hooded jacket, jeans and a mask, came up to Irion’s driver’s side door and said or did something that caused her to move into the passenger seat.
The vehicle then drove out of the parking lot at 5:25 a.m., according to surveillance footage from the Walmart.
Irion was wearing a blue Panasonic shirt, a gray cardigan, and dark Ugg-style boots along with a black purse. She is 5’11” weighing around 240 pounds with dyed black hair and green eyes. She has a smiley face tattoo on her right ankle, a septum piercing and two side nose piercings.
Her vehicle was found three days later at the industrial park in Fernley, which law enforcement said had evidence inside that suggested there were criminal aspects involved in her disappearance.
Since that time, deputies were able to track her cell phone to areas near State Route 427 and Hill Ranch Road in the days following her disappearance. There has been no more activity from her phone and her phone has not been found.
If anyone has any information regarding Irion and her disappearance, please call the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 775-463-6620 and reference case 22LY01068.
This is a developing story.
