UPDATE: The Flood Advisory was extended until 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

A Flood Advisory was issued Thursday morning by the National Weather Service for central Carson City, Douglas County and southern Washoe County.
Doppler radar indicated another round of moderate to heavy rain moving into the Sierra. This rain will move east and begin to impact the east side of the Carson Range late this morning into the afternoon. The Flood Advisory is through 4 p.m. today.
Rain that fell overnight has caused rises in small streams that drain the east side of the Carson Range, including Ash Canyon Creek, Clear Creek, Kings Canyon Creek, Franktown Creek, and Steamboat Creek, according to the weather service. The additional heavy rain is likely to cause further rises and produce some minor flooding along the creeks and streams.
Minor flooding is also possible in the advisory area at low water crossings and in poor drainage areas.
Some locations that may experience flooding include: Carson City, Gardnerville, Washoe City, Pleasant Valley, Genoa, Washoe Lake Campground and Minden, according to the weather service.
