Owners of former Jack’s Bar in Carson City to host groundbreaking ceremony in April
The Nevada Builders Association will host a “First Nail Ceremony” and give tours of the forthcoming and re-named Bank Saloon, formerly Jack's Bar, in downtown Carson City next month.
The ceremony will be April 15, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Festivities begin at 5 p.m., with Frey Ranch Whisky Tasting Reception Mixer immediately following at Belle Fiore Wines. There will also be a raffle with prizes including a Battle Born fire hydrant, donated by sponsor American AVK.
Raffle tickets are $10 and all proceeds will go to the Nevada Builders Association Scholarship Fund.
The Nevada Builders Alliance took ownership of the historic Jack’s Bar and CEO Aaron West is dedicated to turning it into a prime location for downtown Carson City.
According to West, the damage to the interior was so severe from years of misuse and decay, that the only parts to remain of the original establishment will be the exterior stone walls and cast iron columns.
However, West has decided to give an extra historical touch, as the name will circumnavigate returning to “Jack’s Bar,” but instead will become the “Bank Saloon,” which is what the bar first opened under in 1899.
The Carson City-based Nevada Builder's Alliance, a statewide professional organization representing the construction industry and affiliated sectors, completed the purchase of the Jack's Bar building for $300,000 in 2018.
The property, located at 418 South Carson Street, was purchased from Cubix Ormsby LLC, which also owns the Ormsby House on the opposite corner of the intersection.
