State museums in Nevada closed through end of March due to coronavirus concerns
CARSON CITY — Nevada’s seven state museums are closing to the public until the end of the month in response to the Coronavirus outbreak.
“The safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers is our top priority,” said Myron Freedman, acting administrator of the Division of Museums and history.
Facilities closed include Nevada State Museum Las Vegas, Nevada State Museum Carson City, Nevada Historical Society in Reno, Lost City Museum in Overton, East Ely Railroad Depot Museum, Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City and Nevada State Railroad Museum Carson City.
The closure is through March 29. Museum staffs will maintain regular hours and researchers can call with questions.
