Fire and Snow Warnings highlight Carson City weather through the weekend, which feels right given the state of things
In typical Nevada fashion, there are weather advisories for both fire and snow on the horizon, really cementing in the apocalyptic mood of our current times.
There is a fire weather watch in effect from 2 p.m. Friday through Saturday afternoon due to strong winds and low humidity for all of Western Nevada.
Southwest winds increase today ahead of the oncoming storm hailing from the pacific. Strong gusty winds continue into Saturday with some lower humidity during the day on Friday.
Winds will weaken some for Sunday, but should remain gusty.
Snow then begins Saturday in the Sierras with some rains and snows for the valleys beginning Saturday evening. Rain and snow will continue through the middle of next week.
Residents should plan for signifiant travel delays in the sierra, with cold and windy weather and bursts of showers possible.
Highs today are in the mid 60s, and there is a slight chance of rain and breezy weather tonight with a low of 36 degrees. Saturdays high is in the low 50s, with rain and snow likely with wind on Saturday night, with a low of 30 degrees.
Rain, snow and breezy wind will continue through Tuesday.
