Carson City Sheriff's Office bookings: Vehicle reported stolen leads to arrest
A 38-year-old woman was arrested Thursday for suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Nicole Marie Hickman of Carson City was taken into custody at 4:25 p.m. in the area of North Saliman Road and East William Street following an investigation into a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
According to the report, a license plate check returned with the vehicle reported stolen. A high risk traffic stop was made.
The driver complied with commands and was detained. The woman told officers she bought the vehicle from a roommate and provided information on the roommate and said the roommate was currently in rehab, the report states.
A deputy spoke with the mother of the roommate who owned the car and stated Hickman did not legally purchase the vehicle from the roommate and that the vehicle was sold to her by someone else while the owner was in rehab. The vehicle was then reported stolen.
Hickman was taken into custody for suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle. Bail: $10,000.
