Hot Air Balloons surprise students at Mark Twain Elementary in Carson City
Students at Mark Twain Elementary School were given a surprise from the skies in the form of several hot air balloons that alighted on school grounds for the children.
According to Shannon Cord, who has been following Karalyn Mumm’s “Citrus in the Sky” balloon for years, the school raised almost $1,900 for medical supplies for Carson Tahoe Hospital, and Mark Twain Principal Ruthlee Calojaro even went up in one of the balloons!
The balloons and pilots are as follows:
Citrus in the Sky, piloted by Karalyn Mumm, is the yellow belly balloon with stripes on top and bottom.
Synchronicity, piloted by Jeff Haliczer, is the dark balloon with black on top and bottom.
Don’t Tell Mom, piloted by William Vavra, is the orange, green, and yellow balloon.
The students were very excited to learn more about hot air balloons, and at close range!
