A 35-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of felony grand larceny of a motor vehicle, a Carson City sheriff's arrest report states.

At 7:36 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to the area of Mills Park in reference to the Subaru being returned. The suspect left a text message claiming he returned the vehicle to the area near Mills Park and the reporting party would know where it would be, the booking report states.
Officers arrived and located the stolen Subaru off 800 East William Street parked in the center of a parking lot. Deputies could see the suspect standing in the doorway of an apartment. The suspect saw an officer and quickly ran into an apartment and locked the door, according to the report.
Additional deputies responded, maintaining a perimeter. A search warrant for the apartment was applied for. After a few moments passed, the suspect exited the apartment and peacefully surrendered to deputies. He was arrested for suspicion of grand larceny of a motor vehicle.
