Carson City and Douglas County offices closed Tuesday due to severe weather
Carson City and Douglas County offices will be closed today, Tuesday, due to ongoing severe winter weather. This closure includes all City offices with the exception of the courthouse and essential public safety services.
Carson City Public Works is working around the clock to clear streets of snow and ice to ensure the safety of those traveling on Carson City roads during this storm.
The Carson City Courthouse will be open today.
Meanwhile, again due to the weather and out of an abundance of caution for Meals on Wheels drivers, staff, volunteers and seniors in the community, the Carson City Senior Center will be closed and Meals on Wheels will not be delivering Tuesday.
For Meals on Wheels clients, please eat your recently delivered frozen meal. Carson City Meals on Wheels expects to resume normal delivery on Wednesday. Its drive-thru, curbside pickup and pop-up, in-house dining options are also canceled Tuesday as well as all activities and meetings.
Food Bank of Northern Nevada will be delivering commodities on Friday, March 3, same time, same location. Please be safe out there today.
Elsewhere, due to travel impacts from regional winter storms, Douglas County Manager Patrick Cates has declared that all nonessential County offices are closed Tuesday. This notice applies to the executive branch of county government and does not apply to Douglas County Courts.
