Douglas Sheriff's Office book man suspected of attempted lewdness with a child, other charges
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division, in coordination with the Douglas County Street Enforcement Team, arrested a 32-year-old man Monday for multiple alleged attempted sex crimes involving a child.
Richard Fraser was taken into custody for attempted lewdness with a child under 16 years of age, luring a child, using a child to produce pornography, and indecent or obscene exposure in the presence of a child, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office in a news release.
During the course of the investigation, information was obtained indicating Fraser was propositioning to meet the minor under 16 years of age through the use of Facebook. The messages Fraser sent to the minor depicted evidence of child grooming and talk of sexual intercourse, the release states.
The case was reported to the sheriff's office. Investigations was made aware of the case, and a Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputy began an undercover sting conversing with Richard. A date, time, location, and sexual acts were agreed upon between Richard and the undercover DCSO Deputy through text messaging, according to the news release.
At the predetermined date, time, and location previously agreed upon for Richard to meet the minor to have sexual intercourse, Richard was instead contacted by DCSO Detectives and arrested. Fraser is currently in custody at the Douglas County Jail in Minden, Nevada. He is being held on $155,012 bail.
