Carson City arrests: Man who said he was on 'acid' smashes car window, breaks into business naked
A 20-year-old man was arrested Sunday for two counts suspicion of gross misdemeanor malicious destruction of property and trespassing after an incident in which he said he had consumed a large amount of LSD, a Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report states.
According to the booking report, Carson City sheriff's deputies responded at 9:44 p.m. to the 1200 block of South Carson Street for a report of a man punching windows of vehicles near a coffee shop drive-through. The description of the man was that he was wearing dark clothing.
Dispatch then advised a witness saw the man leave and walk to the 1300 block of South Carson Street. A deputy arrived at the location and noticed the man, completely naked, inside a tile business, the arrest report states.
The deputy observed several large dents on the exterior shop's door and broken glass on the ground. The male was instructed to exit the business and complied and sat down. He identified himself and advised he consumed a large amount of "acid" or LSD. The officer observed he was not making sense and saying sentences that were not coherent. He was transported to the hospital for medical clearance.
Another deputy on scene located a pile of clothes where the man was standing inside of the business. The clothing was a black sweater, black pants and black combat boots, the report states.
The initial reporting party added they wanted to pursue charges for destruction of property after the driver side window of their vehicle was smashed in. The reporting party advised the man smashed the window of their vehicle with his feet. The damage to the window would cost approximately $500.
Damage was also done to the shop door of the tile business, as well as a broken glass window.
The suspect, listed as being from Wellington, was cleared from the hospital and taken to jail. He was charged with two counts malicious destruction of property ($250 to $5,000) and trespassing. Bail: $5,242.
