Minden man identified as victim in Monday's fatal airplane crash in north Douglas County
A 64-year-old Minden man has been identified as the victim in a plane crash that happened Monday in north Douglas County, officials said Tuesday.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says pilot Stephen Filice's body was located in the wreckage. The cause of the crash has not been determined and the incident is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration.
At around 11:30 a.m. Monday Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and East Fork Fire Protection District responded to a report of a plane crash in northern Douglas County.
They located the wreckage of a twin engine Piper PA-34 Seneca in the vicinity of Hobo Hot Springs, located west of US Hwy 395 and south of Plymouth Drive at around 12:20 p.m.
