UPDATE: Woman in vehicle pedestrian crash on North Carson Street dies
UPDATE: 8:50PM: Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirms that the pedestrian who was hit in the intersection of North Carson Street and College Parkway, has died. The identity of the woman has not been released pending notification of family members.

UPDATE: The victim is an older female who was reported to be breathing but unconscious. She was taken by ground ambulance to the Carson City Airport and flown to the trauma ward of Renown Medical Center in Reno.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called this morning to a crash involving a pedestrian in the area of North Carson Street and College Parkway.
The accident was in the eastbound lane. Dispatch received the call at 11:05 a.m. Motorists should avoid the area to allow for emergency vehicles.
Nevada Highway Patrol has been notified and will be responding.
