Carson City Fire Department called to structure fire at Elm Street residence
Carson City Fire Department and sheriff's deputies were called early Monday morning to a structure fire at 1034 Elm Street on the west side of town.
The fire was called in at around 12:18 a.m. and involves a single family residence with smoke and flames that were showing in the rear of the residence. The residence is located between Crain Street and Crest Drive.
Occupants inside the home were ordered to evacuate and according to first responders on scene, everyone from the residence had been evacuated. Two adult males were treated for smoke inhalation with one requesting to be taken to the hospital for evaluation.
The fire reportedly came from the roof area. Firefighters had a preliminary knock down at around 12:34 a.m., according to the battalion chief on scene. Firefighters had worked inside and outside the residence looking for and extinguishing further spread, especially along the roof and attic areas.
According to a reporting party who called in the fire, a power line was down at the residence. The cause of the fire is under investigation and a fire investigator was called to the scene as well as NV Energy.
