A widespread Charter Spectrum outage is reported by cable TV customers Saturday around Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Washoe counties.
The outage began sometime around 2 p.m. in Carson City, and appears to be have happened elsewhere before 1 p.m. and after 2 p.m., according to DownDetector.com. The outage appears to affect Cable TV services only.
According to an online Spectrum Live Chat, a customer service rep said the area shows there is a temporary service outage happening and that Charter Spectrum technicians "are aware of the issue and working diligently to restore services as soon as possible."
Some customers report being able to get The Weather Channel, which is currently reporting a winter storm in the northeast. Unfortunately that doesn't do the Northern Nevada area much good if you've been watching the Winter Olympic Games.

As of around 3:55 p.m. there wasn't an estimated time for service to be restored, according to the Live Chat.
