Carson City arrests: Man jailed for domestic battery, allegedly grabs victim by throat
A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday for suspicion of domestic battery and violation of a suspended sentence, a Carson City sheriff's report states.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched at 11:35 a.m. to the 300 block of South Pratt Street for a domestic battery.
During the investigation, deputies learned a man and woman were in an argument outside while fixing a car tire. It was alleged the argument turned physical when the man grabbed the victim by the throat. The victim said she pushed the man's hands away. The suspect denied the argument was physical or that he threatened anyone, the report states.
Deputies investigating the matter spoke with a witness who said the man did grab the woman by the throat during the argument, the arrest report states.
Dispatch advised the man was on Alternative Sentencing. DAS requested a hold to be placed on him. During the intake process at jail the man admitted using meth a couple days prior and said that it would show up in a drug test, the report states. $4,132.

— A 23-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested Wednesday for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Dec. 4, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 50-year-old Wellington, Nev., woman was booked into Carson City jail on Wednesday for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued Feb. 10, 2020 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday in the 1700 block of Russell Way for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued July 10, 2018 out of Tahoe Justice Court. Bail: $1,500.
