Evangeline Elston named entertainment director for Nashville Social Club; new Carson City venue opens late spring

Carson City is getting a big music and entertainment boost soon. Evangeline Elston has joined the Nashville Social Club leadership team as Entertainment Director. Elston brings an extensive music industry background to the endeavor.

Owned by long time Carson City residents, John Procaccini and Kitty McKay, the Nashville Social Club is the culmination of the couple’s longtime vision of combining their experience in the restaurant and entertainment industries to create a unique venue in Carson City.

“Evangeline brings an extensive background in live entertainment, especially Americana music, as well as strong ties to musicians and industry insiders,” Procaccini said. “Her knowledge and connections will help put Carson City on the map as a music town.” McKay added, “The other cool thing about Evangeline is how deeply she cares about and is inspired by the spirit of artistic expression and its power to weave people together.”

Elston, a Nevada native, began her music career at a community radio station in Nevada City where she hosted and produced a radio show featuring American Roots music. She went on to open her own café and music venue in Colfax, California that attracted national touring artists. Elston later moved to Austin Texas to pursue a career in entertainment booking, promotion and management. She formed Evangeline Presents where she managed and impressive stable of touring and recording artists. Nevada called her back and in 2015 when she took a position as Festival Director for the Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre Festival at Lake Tahoe. For the past few years, she has been living and working in Silver City, Nevada and continuing to work with national touring artists. She also, along with her dad, founded a concert series at the Historic Silver City Schoolhouse.

Elston says she is excited to join The Nashville Social Club. “I am really looking forward to making Carson City a true ‘music town’. There is great synergy between my experience and the vibe John and Kitty are fostering at the club. I think Carson City is on the verge of becoming a destination for live music,” she said. “I can see the Nashville Social Club jump starting this trend and then it will grow as tourism increases and more people move to the area.”

The Nashville Social Club will host well known and emerging artists in the broad genre of “Americana”. It includes influences from country, folk, blues, rock and bluegrass. The venue includes an art deco-inspired live main stage and music hall, as well as an acoustic stage in the restaurant dining area. Elston added “people really love the spirit and nostalgia of Nashville. The club will provide a little slice of that in a very authentic way.”

The Nashville Social Club is set to open in late spring at 1105 South Carson Street. The building once housed the Station Grill and most recently, Taste of India. The Nashville Social Club will serve hip Southern food and drink in its 125-seat dining room, lounge and sun porch. The venue also features two stages, a Music and Banquet Hall for up to 200 guests as well as a retail promenade. Visit thenashvilleclub.com for employment opportunities and more information.
