Nevada governor to hold virtual press conference Thursday, provide COVID-19 update
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak will hold a virtual press conference, Thursday, Feb. 10, at 10 a.m. to provide an update on COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, along with the availability of COVID-19 test kits and therapeutics.
The press conference will be streamed on the governor’s YouTube page here.
In January, Sisolak announced that more than half a million take-home rapid COVID-19 tests were being sent to Nevada and would be available. In the Quad County region, Lyon and Douglas counties and Carson City have notified residents that they can pick up the tests.
Nevada Health Response reported Feb. 1 that all counties in Nevada were experiencing substantial or high transmission levels based on the latest CDC COVID-19 tracker, and that all counties must follow the current mask requirements. See the latest mandate guide here.
Meanwhile, The Nevada Independent is reporting Wednesday that Sisolak is expected to lift the state’s mask mandate amid a nationwide decrease in COVID cases, joining other states, including California, that have announced recent plans to lift their mandates.
According to The Nevada Independent report here, sources said the governor is expected to make the announcement at Thursday's press conference.
