Two jailed for felony heroin trafficking following Carson City SET operation
The Carson City Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team arrested two men late Saturday on felony drug trafficking and conspiracy charges with 14.5 grams of heroin recovered, plus marijuana and $1,400 cash, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested were Joshua Floyd, 24, on suspicion of trafficking, possession, possession with intent to sell and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. His bail has been set at $40,000. Also arrested was Brice Daniels, 39, of Sacramento on suspicion of conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act, a felony, and possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
Carson City SET officers said they were informed about the heroin and put an operation in place to make the arrests. The heroin confiscated was set for sales around Carson City with a street value of around $3,000, said Carson City SET Deputy Morgan Tucker.
“It’s a good chunk for us. These are the suspects we’re dealing with and these are the drugs, the tar heroin, that kids are overdosing on and getting sick,” said Tucker. “We’re seeing more of this around Carson City and parents need to be aware.”
The pair remained in custody as of Monday morning. In other arrests:
— A 28-year-old Carson City man was jailed Sunday on a gross misdemeanor charge of reckless endangerment, and misdemeanor probation violation after he was shooting BBs from the second story of a north Carson Street motel.
The incident happened at around 3 p.m. in the 1900 block of North Carson Street. Officers were called to the area after a witness reported seeing a man shooting a firearm out the window of the motel.
Officers arrived and made contact with the witness who pointed out the room in which shots were being fired. Deputies went to the room and ordered the men out.
The 28-year-old man admitted he used a black BB gun to shoot BBs from the window, striking a street sign and a business sign across the street where cars passed and pedestrians were walking.
The other man in the motel room said he wasn’t involved but was taking a shower at the time. He confirmed there were three BB guns in the room. Bail: $3,137.

According to the arrest report, the victim told officers she and her boyfriend got into an argument in which she was slapped and hit in the face, and sustained a laceration on her forehead. The man said the victim hit him too and that the laceration on her must have happened during their fight. Bail: $3,137.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 10:26 p.m. in the 1200 block of Country Club Drive at Silver Oak Golf Course. The suspect was doing donuts when officers arrived. He faces a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving. Bail: $637.

A deputy made a traffic stop after he ran the license plate and it came back with suspended registration. During the traffic stop officers noted he showed signs of drinking and had two empty bottles of McCormick’s vodka in the center console of the vehicle. The man said he had two shots of the vodka and stated he wanted two more and had driven to the store to get them, the arrest report states.
He blew a .94 preliminary breath test. At jail he blew a .084 and a .081. Bail: $2,178.
