18-year-old arrested after battering mother, said she wouldn't give him money to go to Reno
An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1400 block of Camille Drive Wednesday evening for first-offense domestic battery, a misdemeanor.
Deputies responded to the residence on a report of domestic battery, in which the 18-year-old allegedly struck his mother.
The man told deputies he had been upset that his mother would not give him money to go to Reno, and he struck her on the shoulder three times. He denied being hit or struck by his mother.
His mother gave a similar recollection, and said she put her hands up in a defensive manner while he was striking her.
The man was arrested and booked into the Carson City Jail without incident.

Warrants:
— A 33-year-old Reno man was transported from the Washoe County Detention Facility to the Carson City Jail on an outstanding confirmed warrant for contempt of court.
The warrant was issued on Nov. 21, 2018 for failing to appear in court.
Bail: $3,000 cash only
