Douglas County offices, schools closed Monday due to heavy snow, hazardous driving conditions
Due to severe winter weather and hazardous driving conditions, Douglas County Manager Jenifer Davidson — after consulting with Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley — has authorized the closure of county offices on Monday, Feb. 5. Douglas County Schools are also closed countywide.
Aside from essential public safety, corrections, courts, and elections personnel, County offices will close for the day.
Sheriff Coverley advises motorists to avoid nonessential travel during hazardous driving conditions. County officials are monitoring the situation, and will reopen offices when safe to do so.

Meanwhile, despite winter-weather conditions, all Douglas County vote centers will remain open during scheduled hours for the Presidential Preference Primary, Tuesday, Feb. 6 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Monday's closure does not affect election centers or election workers, which are considered essential.
Votes may be cast in-person at the following locations: Douglas County Community and Senior Center, Kahle Community Center, Dresslerville Community Center, Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center, and the Indian Hills General Improvement District.
