Three straight 'Jeopardy' wins for Carson High graduate Rachel Lindgren
Carson High School and UNR graduate, Rachel Lindgren, took home win number three Tuesday on the television game-show 'Jeopardy.'
This time, Northern Nevada was represented in a big way with another contestant, Katie Champagne, also a UNR graduate.
Champagne, is a Nevada Career Studio Graduate Assistant and The College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno Economics Graduate student.
Lindgren graduated from the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources at University of Nevada, Reno.
Lindgren began to assert herself in the second half of the game as she had in the previous game. She was close to a runaway, but Champagne nailed the last clue to stay alive with $7,600 verses Lindgren’s $13,600.
Alex, the third contestant, an investment analyst from Kersey City, NJ had a score of $4,000.
Lindgren will now advance to the next game as a three-day champion. Tune in to KOLO Channel 8, the Northern Nevada 'Jeopardy' affiliate on Wednesday at 7 p.m. to see if she continues her winning streak to four-in-a-row. If you missed Tuesday night's program, you can watch the rerun at 4 p.m. on Channel 8.
Lindgren was born in Gardnerville and spent her formative years in Carson City, graduating from Carson High School in 2009. She went on to attend the University of Nevada, Reno for five years to ultimately achieve a dual degree in Biology and Forest Management and Ecology.
She is now working a seasonal position in Bend, Oregon as a fire lookout. Lindgren hopes to pursue grad school, and also to receive her pilots license in the near future.
