Adopt-A-Senior Program delivers nearly 1,000 gifts this Holiday Season in Carson City
With the support of a generous and caring community, the Carson City Senior Center brought Christmas cheer to homebound seniors and clients of the Carson City Public Guardian this holiday season through its Adopt-A-Senior Program by delivering 990 personal gifts.
The program benefits homebound seniors and disabled adults who may be isolated or are without family or friends in the area. The outpouring of generosity and kindness from the community was tremendous. Not only were the gifts perfect, but the donors also festively wrapped each one, making each gift unique.
In a thank you letter sent to the program, a gift recipient stated, “Thank you so much for your lovely gifts. I really appreciate my robe. Your gifts were the only ones I had to open and made my day. Again, thank you.” Many seniors are overlooked and may not receive a gift during the holidays. The Adopt-A-Senior Program ensures no senior is forgotten, providing thoughtful gifts and festive cheer.
