Carson City Sheriff's Office: Attempted kidnapping suspect identified and arrested
On Wednesday, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office produced a media release requesting the public’s assistance with identification of an attempted kidnapping suspect from an incident that occurred at the CVS Pharmacy located at 1980 N. Carson Street on Jan. 16.
A few hours after the media release was published, Carson City Dispatch received a call from Omar Garcia-Madrigal who identified himself as the subject from the media release. Omar’s Nevada State Identification photo confirmed he matches the identity of the suspect sought in this investigation.
Garcia-Madrigal cooperated with the investigation and agreed to speak with detectives regarding the incident. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team took Omar into custody at his residence without incident.
Following interviews, Omar Garcia-Madrigal was arrested for charges of NRS 200.310.2 Attempted Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree and NRS 207.260.4A Unlawful contact with a minor. Garcia-Madrigal is being held on $40,000 Bail.
