Carson City School Board to review superintendent candidates, decide on interview process
The Carson City School District will review 10 applicants as a part of the ongoing search for a new superintendent. Watch the live video here.
Tonight, the Carson City School Board will be hosting a special meeting in order to establish criteria and interview questions for the applicants, as well as to select which applicants to interview.
The applicants have been vetted by the Nevada Association of School Boards, according to the agenda.
Out of the 10 candidates, three are currently district employees:
- Tasha Fuson, Associate Superintendent of Educational Services
- Andrew Feuling, Chief Financial Officer
- Dr. Jennifer Ward-DeJoseph, Fremont Elementary School Principal
The other seven candidates are as follows:
- Dr. Scott Thomas Cooper, Director of Career Technical Education for Colorado River Board of Cooperative Education Services (Mesa, CO.)
- Dr. Michael Esposito, Principal of Independence Charter Academy for Helendale School District and Director of Pupil Services (Helendale, CA)
- Dr. John Goldhardt, Superintendent for Manchester School District (Manchester, NH)
- Dr. Verenice Gutierrez, Director of Educational Equity and Access for Salt Lake City School District (Salt Lake City, UT)
- Miranda Kogon, Associate Chief of Student Equity and Opportunity for Denver Public Schools (Denver, CO)
- Dr. Jerri-Lynn Williams, Chief Administrator of Learning Bridge Charter School (Ely, NV)
- Dr. Keevin Woody, Assistant Director of Schools for Elementary Education of Roane County Schools (Kingston, TN)
The Carson City School Board will meet tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the Carson City Community Center inside of the Robert “Bob” Crowell Board Room.
