Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly throwing rock, shattering tow truck window
A 45-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for gross misdemeanor destruction of property and misdemeanor assault after allegedly throwing a rock at a tow truck, shattering the windshield, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of South Carson Street and Colorado Street for a vehicle injury report. Dispatch advised the suspect threw a rock at the reporting party's vehicle that resulted in a shattered windshield, according to the report.
Deputies located the man, matching the description of the suspect, walking westbound on Rhodes approaching Curry Street. A deputy activated their emergency lights and sirens to stop the man, who turned around and raised his middle finger, the report states. The man then turned around and continued walking westbound on Rhodes.
An additional deputy responded and the deputies made contact with the man, who became argumentative and began to use curse words directed at the officer, the report states.
The deputy asked the suspect why he flipped him off. The suspect ignored the deputy and said he didn't know who the deputy was, even though the deputy had red and blue emergency lights and a siren activated.
The man was detained. During a search for weapons, officers located a fixed bladed knife in the man's right rear pant pocket. Meanwhile, deputies met with the reporting party who showed them his vehicle, a tow truck, with a large impact point on his windshield that caused a large shatter across the windshield.
The reporting party stated the suspect threw the rock at his windshield and that it was completely unprovoked. The victim advised he exited his tow truck and asked the man why he did it. The victim stated the suspect lunged at him and attempted to hit him, the report states.
The victim advised he wanted to pursue charges for destruction of property and assault. Damage from the windshield was valued at $400. The suspect was booked for suspicion of gross misdemeanor destruction of property and misdemeanor assault. Bail: $3,137.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Feb. 15 for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued July 20, 2022 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Jan. 15 for violation of alternative sentencing conditions. The woman was on alternative sentencing with a condition not to consume alcohol. The woman voluntarily submitted to a preliminary breath test with a .036 result. Bail: $3,000.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Jan. 14 for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. Bladimir Cruz Vargas was taken into custody following an investigation into an altercation involving threats to stab a person with a knife. Bail: $20,000.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Jan. 13 in the 800 block of East Musser Street for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and hit and run.
According to the booking report, deputies were sent to the area of Robinson Street and Stewart Street for a possible intoxicated driver who had hit a vehicle and drove off.
Deputies met with the victim of the hit and run who advised that she was in her car when an unknown man side swiped the back end of her car. She said the man identified himself and got out of his car and asked if she was OK.
She said she asked for the man's ID, which he gave to her. She took a photo of his ID and later showed it to deputies. She said that once the man found out she called law enforcement, he grabbed his license and got back in his car. She said the man was drunk but he continued to drive anyway, the report states.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle that matched the description of the suspected intoxicated driver and made contact with the man, who was hunched over the steering wheel with a strong odor of vomit and alcohol on his person and breath.
The man was taken to jail to conduct field sobriety tests. The man submitted to tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .300. He agreed to evidentiary testing by providing a blood sample. He was medically cleared from the hospital and taken to jail. Bail: $1,774.
— A 32-year-old woman was arrested Jan. 13 for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued Dec. 9, 2022 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Jan. 13 in the area of Fairview Drive and Saliman Road for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI.
According to the booking report, deputies responded to the area for a report of a non-injury crash. Dispatch advised the reporting party believed the male driver who struck her car was under the influence of alcohol, the report states.
A deputy arrived and observed two vehicles, with the suspect vehicle having backed into the back left quarter panel of the victim vehicle.
Deputies made contact with the suspect driver, who had red watery eyes, slurred speech and an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. The man agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .175 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He agreed to an evidentiary blood draw. Bail: $1,137.
— A 32-year-old Silver Springs man, Dennis Wendell Davis III, was arrested Jan. 13 for suspicion of felony being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor carrying a concealed firearm without a permit and the following misdemeanors: A failure to appear warrant, driving on a suspended or revoked license and driving with expired registration.
Also arrested was a 19-year-old woman, Bethany Rouse-Pierson, listed of Reno for a felony warrant issued out of Reno Township Justice court and suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Bail: $25,000 each.
