Juan’s Mexican Grill to open Monday in Downtown Carson City
Carson City’s newest Mexican eatery will be officially opening this Monday, Jan. 18 in its new downtown home.
Owners Juan and Maria Salazar have been running the first location of Juan’s Mexican Grill for years inside the Comstock Casino and this new location, which took over the venue left vacant by Battle Born Social, will be their second.
This is not their first time serving up Mexican cuisine in the downtown area. Juan’s used to operate both inside the old Mo and Sluggo’s (now the Pourhouse) as well as the Horseshoe Club (now closed).
"My wife Maria and I are excited to be back in downtown, and hopefully the customer base we had in downtown before will continue to support us with their business," said Juan.
Juan says that they will operate both a restaurant and bar within the venue, and will be offering Mexican food as well as the possibility for a more diverse menu as well.
There are currently three generations of the Salazar family in their business, from grandparents to parents, aunts and uncles, to children, nieces and nephews who all do their part in the family’s business.
Juan's Mexican Grill will be opening their new location at 318 N Carson St. this Monday.
They are open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and they are closed on Sundays.
