Carson City snowflake arts program a success, winter wildlife workshop set for Saturday
On Saturday, Jan. 12, families came out to the Community Center for our first ever Snowflake Formation Arts and Crafts program through the Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department.
We had a great turnout with more than 20 children having fun making paper snowflakes, and the adults had some fun, too. We also talked about how real snowflakes form from water vapor into ice crystals while folding and cutting up our own snowflakes.
Thank you to everyone that came out, we look forward to doing this again next year and hope to include more family-fun crafts in our Interpretive Programs line up.
In the meantime, don’t forget about our exciting new Winter Wildlife Workshop this Saturday, Jan. 19, at Carson River Park. The Nevada Department of Wildlife is partnering with the Parks Department for interactive wildlife stations and an interpretive hike for adventurers of all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. Sign up here.
