Carson City crime log: Deputies make arrests for DUI, disorderly conduct and warrants
A 73-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday in the 1400 block of North Carson Street for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and unsafe backing, a sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to a parking lot on north Carson Street regarding a non-injury motor vehicle crash.
Dispatch advised that a witness said they thought the driver may be under the influence. The responding deputy asked the woman if she had been drinking. The woman replied she had.
The officer asked how much and the woman said too much, the arrest report states. She provided a preliminary breath test of .147 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. Bail: $1,249.
In other arrests:
— A 33-year-old transient, David Bennett, was arrested Wednesday morning, 12:30 a.m. for a felony parole and probation violation warrant issued July 12, 2016 out of Carson City District Court. He’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 23-year-old Dayton man was arrested Tuesday in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East for suspicion of disorderly conduct. According to the arrest report, the man was under the influence of narcotics and attempted to get into a vehicle that wasn’t his that was parked in a casino parking lot. Bail: $242.
— A 67-year-old Gardnerville woman, Susan Jane O’Neil, was admitted into Carson City Jail Tuesday for a felony failure to appear warrant issued August 15, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man, Tyler Schroeder, was arrested Monday for two felony counts possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to a fast food restaurant in the 3500 block of North Carson Street regarding a man who had been in the restroom for an extended period of time and was believed to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
A deputy on scene opened the men’s restroom and discovered the man on the floor with several pieces of clothing and Q-tips on the floor, along with a metal spoon with a burnt black substance on it and a piece of folded tin foil next to him.
Inside the foil was a black tar substance that tested positive for heroin. Also discovered was a folded piece of paper with methamphetamine inside. He was booked for two counts possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $6,132.
— A 26-year-old Reno man was booked into jail on Monday for a Reno Township Justice Court warrant on a DUI charge issued Feb. 28, 2018. Bail: $2,000.
