Carson City sheriff's deputies make DUI, drug and fugitive from justice arrests

A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for a felony fugitive from justice warrant issued Jan. 1, 2019 out of the U.S. Marshal’s Office, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Ryan McGuire was taken into custody in the area of Highway 50 East and Fairview Drive. He is being held without bail in lieu of a hearing with the Marshal’s Office.

In other arrests:
— A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a Carson City sheriff's deputy.

Timothy Bohannan was taken into custody at 8:50 p.m. in the 1700 block of North Carson Street.

According to the arrest report, a deputy attempted a home visit on a woman residing at the location who is on formal probation with the Department of Alternative Sentencing.

Officers went to the residence and observed several subjects sitting in the room with marijuana coming out of the room. Small baggies were also on the floor. A K9 was called to the location. Bohannan was seated on a bed and was holding a camera case in which he was attempting to hide, the arrest report states.

The officer asked the man to hand over the case in which he did and stated he didn’t know what was inside. Inside the case was multiple small plastic bags, a scale with a crystal substance on it, a small spoon, multiple Q-tips, and a small baggie containing a brown in color crystal-like substance. Bohannan was arrested for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after the substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Bail: $3,632.

— A 53-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 10:36 p.m. in the 600 block of Parkland Way for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence. The woman had been drinking and provided a preliminary breath test of .23. The woman was on alternative sentencing with a condition not to drink alcohol. Bail: $1,000.

— A 32-year old Kings Beach, Calif. man was arrested Sunday in the area of Highway 50 East and Brown street for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI, driving without a valid license and a tail lamp violation. According to the arrest report, the man was stopped due to a tail lamp out on the vehicle.

The man had an odor of alcohol on his breath. He agreed to participate in standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided two preliminary breath samples of .100 and was arrested. A criminal history showed he has one prior DUI arrest or conviction. Bail: $1,401.

— A 62-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:22 p.m. in the parking lot of a South Carson Street casino for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI.

According to the arrest report, the man was stopped after a report of a possible impaired driver was called into dispatch. A traffic stop was made and the driver admitted he had three beers and 1 shot of brandy. He agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .123 and was arrested. Bail: $1,137.

— A 25-year-old Sparks woman and a Carson City Jail was booked Saturday for 17 counts of violation of conditions of bail release, all misdemeanors, after allegedly making 17 phone calls to her husband while a jail inmate from Jan. 5 to Jan. 12. Part of the woman’s conditions for bail or release was to not have contact with the man. Bail: $17,000.
