Carson Pines evicted pets need your help
Families abruptly evicted from condemned apartments at the Carson Pines Apartments in Carson City are struggling to find new homes. The challenge is even greater for pet owners, due to the scarcity of pet-friendly rentals.
Local animal rescue Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (WARF) a 501C3, is accepting tax-deductible donations that will be used to help Carson Pines pets who need temporary boarding and care.
One such pet is Mac (pictured here in his red holiday sweater) a gentle pittie who has been befriended by WARF Animal Sanctuary "greeter" Marley. Mac serves as an emotional support animal for a resident's son, who has Asperger's Syndrome.
WARF is a grassroots organization that includes a network of local fosters in the Carson-Reno-Tahoe area, as well as an animal sanctuary in Stagecoach, Nevada. You can donate online by visiting TahoeWARF.org. Or donate now via Venmo: @WylieARF. Checks are accepted as well: P.O. Box 5364 Incline Village, NV 89450 Please include a "Carson Pines" memo on any donation. NOTE: there is a donation match through midnight, today, December 31.
