Carson City's Bethlehem Lutheran School names spelling bee winners
Earlier this month Bethlehem Lutheran School in Carson City hosted its all-school spelling bee and have announced the winning spellers.
In the 1st and 2nd grade Spelling Bee Division, Isaiah Sebring-Smith, a second grader, out spelled four other opponents to take first place in the Bee.
In the 3rd-5th grade Spelling Bee Division, Max de la Torre, a fifth grader, took first place while fending off eight other contestants.
Morgan de ta Torre, an eighth grader, took first place in the 6th-8th-grade portion of the School Spelling Bee. She too had to outlast eight other contestants. Next up is the Carson City Spelling Bee.
Those representing Bethlehem Lutheran in the City Bee will be:
5th grader: Max de la Torre
6th grader: Jude Lamprecht
7th grader: Morgan de la Torre
8th grader: Samantha Steyn
The winners of the City Bee will be able to compete in the State Spelling Bee, which will be held in Las Vegas is on March 21th, 2020.
