“The performances are a one-of-a-kind holiday celebration that brings the spirit of the holidays from around the world all wrapped up in jazz,” said Chuck Reider, Music Director. “We encourage families to bring their children as the experience offers an evening of cultural music, song, and celebrations for all generations to enjoy.”
Highlights of “The World of Joy” include Sevivon which is a festive song about the dreidel, Ma’oz Tzur, also known as Rock of Ages and sung during Hanukkah after lighting the festival lights, the family Austrian Christmas carol Silent Night, the Brazilian Christmas song Boas Festas, and a lighter, funkier, presentation of The Little Drummer Boy.
The show will also feature a new arrangement of Donny Hathaway’s This Christmas and Esta Navidad, a lively and heartwarming Christmas favorite from Puerto Rico; both of which will be presented by the RJO’s guest vocalists.
