Here Ye, Here Ye, Royalty Has Arrived
Carson High School's annual homecoming has arrived. Kicking off the event-filled week was an assembly Tuesday where seniors got their first taste of what candidates they might want to vote for to represent as their 2014 Homecoming royalty.
This year's candidates are just as lively as ever. Candidates for Homecoming queen are: Abbey Dudley, Lindsay Hettrick, Bailie Zuber, Chantal Torres, Sarah Christl and Jessica Basa. King contestants are: Jared Hearn, Dylin Rooker, Nolan Shine, Fred Christensen, Casey Stevens and Kyle Kunz.
The candidates are fortunate enough to go to every single thing that you could possibly imagine during Homecoming week, although much of them would be doing it anyway because they are so involved with what Carson High has to offer.
As a matter of fact, five of the six male candidates play a sport, two of them are elected officers in leadership, one is involved in night school, two are involved in National Honor Society and all carry a GPA over a 3.0. The girls are equally as involved with the school as four of them play a sport, one is very likely to be the valedictorian, five are involved in National Honor Society, three are elected officers in leadership and all carry well over a 3.0 as well.
All of the candidates are very excited to be a candidate and all want to be crowned either king or queen. Seniors at Carson will vote online for who they would like to see as their king and queen. That ceremony will take place at halftime of the football game this Friday against Bishop Manogue High School.
There will be a parade to show off all of the class floats as well as the candidates at around 6:30 p.m. on the high school football track. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students who don't have their ASB sticker and free for students who do have it.
