Acoustic Trio 'Sure Thing' at Bank Saloon in Carson City this Friday
The acoustic trio “Sure Thing” will appear at the Bank Saloon in Carson City on Friday, Sept. 30. The lineup features local musician Brother Dan Palmer, along with long time musical collaborators Phil Prunier and Jeff Laakso. The trio has been well received at exclusive private parties over the past few years, and this is their first public showing.
Prunier is known in Northern Nevada as both a solo artist and a bandleader, and is known to local audiences most recently by his regular solo appearances at the Bank Saloon. Fluent and creative in many musical styles, Phil plays guitar, mandolin, and harmonica, and has a wide-ranging repertoire.
Multi-instrumentalist Jeff Laakso’s history includes years spent composing and producing music for local gaming companies, even while performing locally, including stints in the Rob Hannah Show and many years with local jam band The Paisley Brain Cells in Northern Nevada. Jeff plays with skill and passion and adds sax, electronic wind instrument, and vocals to the mix.
Together, the trio plays a wide ranging set of popular tunes in fun and loose arrangements that showcase the improvisational abilities of these seasoned performers.
Bank Saloon is located at 418 S. Carson St. in Carson City, and serves fine craft cocktails in a historic setting, directly across from the Nevada State Legislature.
