Carson City's Muscle Powered Trash Mob to take on Horse Creek Ranch bull thistle
This week the Muscle Powered Trash Mob of Carson City will ride again with the annual bull thistle pull at Horse Creek Ranch.
This is a project that we do once a year with Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space. Horse Creek Ranch is a unique Conservation Easement that CCPROS has with the private ranch owner that protects this beautiful piece of property from being developed. As a part of the agreement the owner needs to keep this invasive species under control and we volunteer once a year to go up and help him.
This is a rare opportunity to visit this property that is usually closed to the public. There are only 13 spots so sign up now here.
Be prepared for some possibly wet and boggy areas and dress accordingly.
Meet at the Highway 50 Park n' Ride at 9:00 - 11:30 (Come a little early to sign-in) Required; closed toed shoes or boots. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy afterwards. Recommended: long pants, and long sleeved shirts, hats, sunscreen and water. Muscle Powered will provide gloves, grabbers, and bags. CCPROS will provide shovels.
