Silver Springs Airport Dedication
Silver Springs, NV – Silver Springs Airport was the recipient of a $700,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration and sponsored by Lyon County. With these funds, the Silver Springs airport was able to increase the size of the taxiway and rehabilitate the runway.
These two improvements are vital to the overall master plan to the airport and further enables economic growth and aviation needs to the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center.
As the master plan is completed, the Silver Springs airport will see a growth from 3,000 operations annually to an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 operations.
An estimated 60 construction jobs were created for both the taxiway and rehabilitation projects.
The dedication will take place on Monday, July 13, 2015.
