Mike Epps on The Brother Dan Show, June 27
The Brother Dan Show to feature Mike Epps, June 27
Local business owner/guitarist Mike Epps of A to Zen will be featured on this week’s edition of The Brother Dan Show.
Mike Epps is a longtime supporter of local artists and musicians, as evidenced by the weekly open mic at A to Zen. On any Friday the night the venue is filled with performers, mostly musicians (both amateur and professional), but also, occasionally poets and comedians. At the end of the night, the proprietor steps from behind the scenes and takes a break from directing the livestream production, and takes his own place on the stage to play a short set.
The son of a bandleader, Epps particularly enjoys seeing people take the stage for the first time, and his venue has provided a place for many aspiring to performers to try their hand at entertaining an audience. Host Brother Dan will interview Mike about his current project, which is developing a fully equipped recording studio at A to Zen, where performers can take the next step in their careers, and talk about upcoming events at the venue.
Of course, the two will spend plenty of time making music together, too, even while audience members sample munchies from show sponsor Mangia Tutto, while enjoying the show at the Bank Saloon, at 418 S. Carson St. in Carson City. For those out of the area or unable to attend in person, the show streams on Facebook at the host’s music page: Brother Dan Palmer.
