Wineries Battle It Out In Reno at the 10th Annual Cabernet Shootout and Cabernet Cabaret Gala

Event Date:
March 13, 2016 (All day)

Affairs of the Vine has partnered with the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa to bring the 10th Annual Cabernet Shootout and Cabernet Cabaret Gala to the high country of the Sierra and the spectacular Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno on Sunday, March 13.

The 10th Annual Cabernet Shootout and Cabernet Cabaret Gala, the culmination of the Annual Cabernet Shootout competition, has become a favorite of Cabernet wine lovers over the last nine years. For the past four months, over 300 Cabernet Sauvignons, Cabernet Francs and Cabernet Blends have been evaluated by the Affairs of the Vine judging panel.

Wine Lovers should not miss this amazing event. On Sunday, March 13th a full schedule of events is planned. Choose the full day adventure for those who wish for complete immersion and become one with Cabernet…wining, dining and learning from 11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.. The day begins with a workshop that delves into the heart and soul of Passionate Winemakers as they share their wine and their love for what they do so well, followed by a Cabernet Focused Luncheon hosted by winemakers who will circulate as they pour their wines for guests. Attendees become judges in a Blind Tasting of award winning wines – as they pit their palates against the Reno-based professional judging panel and treat themselves to an evening at the Cabernet Cabaret Gala. Incredible winemakers will share their cabernets and other great wines they produce (including some bubbles) accompanied by fabulous food from the Atlantis Casino Resort and local restaurants. Those who can’t join the adventure for the full day may attend the Gala only on Sunday evening from 6 p.m.- 9:30 p.m.

The Cabernet Cabaret Gala on the evening March 13 at the Atlantis Casino Resort celebrates wine with a fun Roaring 20s theme. Gatsby-esque attire is optional. Enjoy great wines, fabulous food and wonderful people. Tickets available at Whispering Vine, Napa Sonoma, Vino 100, the Atlantis Casino Gift Shop and at www.CabernetShootout.com.

Wine Lover’s may attend the full day activities or join us for the Cabernet Cabaret Gala only. Either way, they will taste spectacular wines, meet amazing winemakers, learn about wine, and enjoy fabulous food.

The Children’s Cabinet will be the beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales and all of the proceeds from the silent auction.

“As soon as John and Barbara Drady of Affairs of the Vine came to Reno to begin planning the Cabernet Shootout and Gala, they reached out to The Children’s Cabinet to find out how they could help raise some extra funds for our community’s children and families. We appreciate how they’re making the spirit of giving part of a fun all-day event for wine and food aficionados,” stated Mike Pomi, The Children’s Cabinet Executive Director.

The Children’s Cabinet is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization helping to keep children safe and families together by offering services and resources that address unmet needs, through a unique and effective cooperative effort between the private sector and public agencies in Nevada.

The Cabernet Shootout and Cabernet Cabaret Gala is an extraordinary wine experience and for the first time can be combined with a luxurious stay at the fabulous Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. This world class Four Diamond resort casino was named by USA Travel as the TOP casino resort property outside of Las Vegas.

Under the direction of Sommelier Christian O’Kuinghttons the Atlantis is recognized within wine and food circles for offering an incredible selection of wines and has been the recipient of a coveted Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
