Carson City Parks and Recreation hosts Winter Full Moon Hike Feb. 27

One year ago, Nevada’s own dinosaur, Nevadadromeus, received its official name and description, entering the specimen into the annals of paleontology. In recognition of this incredible discovery, the Nevada State Museum and the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada in Carson City will be hosting special events this week commemorating the first anniversary of Nevadadromeus, the first official dinosaur discovered in the Silver State.

A 59-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of felony third DUI, according to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report.

The next meeting for the Douglas County School Board is on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. The day before will be a rally along US 395 from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Most friends who have visited Layne Haven over the past six years have met my pet Jay, Huckleberry. He stops by three times a day, 8 a.m. for breakfast, noon for lunch, and 5 p.m. for Happy Hour, when he gets a Beer Nut.
