A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, in the 2700 block of Menlo Drive on a misdemeanor charge, violation of bail conditions, for allegedly being in violation of a protection order, according to a Carson City sheriff’s deputy.

The Desert Gardeners Garden Club will honor a deceased member, Nancy Lee Robertson, with a tree planting at Long Ranch Park, on Saturday, April 25.

UPDATE 10:46AM: NHP Trooper Karen Garretson reports the following: A White Ford Explorer was traveling westbound Highway 50 with reports that it was driving recklessly.
The Ford Explorer struck three mile marker posts on the right shoulder before striking an unoccupied truck and trailer combo that was parked on the side of the road.
The impact pushed the truck and trailer into the travel lane. The driver of the Ford Explorer has non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Carson Tahoe Hospital. Controlled substances may be a factor in the crash.

Nevada Assemblyman PK O’Neill, District 40, has partnered with Western Nevada College Foundation in an effort to raise funds to continue the Always Lost: A Meditation on War exhibit’s national tour and ongoing maintenance.

A 30-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in the area of Mills Park after allegedly exposing himself to a 16-year-old girl, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. Kyle William Chase, a Red Oak, Iowa resident, was booked into Carson City Jail on $5,000 bail.

According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the park at 3:32 p.m. and met with the 16-year-old victim who stated her mother drove her to the park to check on a younger sister near the skate area. This National High Five Day I’m throwing out a virtual high five to the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension for putting on this year’s Capital City Farm Days at Fuji Park. 4-H is alive and well in our region, and rightfully so. Agriculture is a huge part of what makes this state great. The program is geared toward school-children, but is open to the public today and tomorrow if you want to learn more about ranching and farming in our region.
