We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Rick Nugent on May 12, 2024. Rick was the life of the party, always quick with his "one liners", and a truly remarkable husband and friend. His presence will be sorely missed.

Please join us in celebrating Rick's life on June 15th at 1pm at 194 E. Garden Gateway. Let us come together to remember his infectious laughter and the joy he brought to our lives.

In honor of Rick, let us embrace PEACE, LOVE, and Hair Grease, just as he would have wanted.

Nevada State Fair Carnival returns Thursday through Sunday in Carson City

The Nevada State Fair Carnival returns to Mills Park this Thursday in Carson City.

The carnival will continue through Sunday. The event includes carnival rides, food vendors and craft vendors, as well as carnival games.

While it is called a fair, it’s in name only; there are no animals or contests involved.

The event is free to the public to enter. No alcohol is permitted.

Carnival times are as follows:
Thursday June 13th: 1pm - 10pm
Friday June 14th: 11am - 10pm
Saturday June 15th: 11am - 10pm
Sunday June 16th: 11am - 10pm

Attention film lovers and sci-fi film enthusiasts: Prepare to blast off into a world of imagination and creativity with Silver State Storyteller's Moon Rocks Sci-Fi Short Film Competition happening today at the Brewery Arts Center in Carson City.

The screening and awards ceremony promise to be an out-of-this-world experience.

The Moon Rocks Sci-Fi Short Film Competition is not just an event, it's an opportunity to explore the depths of the imagination and create cinematic wonders that defy the laws of gravity. Join film festival organizers on this cosmic adventure and watch the creativity soar to new heights through the filmmakers eyes.

Filmmakers had two weeks to craft their stories from May 22 to June 5. The competition culminates with today's screening and awards ceremony.

Screenings will be held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 449 West King Street, Carson City.
