Carson City man evades police, crashes car, arrested at gunpoint due to expired registration

A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of S. Richmond and Crest. Dr. following a car chase and crash all allegedly due to having expired registration.

Carson City emergency crews respond to crash on US-50 East

Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Monday evening to a two-vehicle crash in the 2900 block of US-50 in East Carson City.

Prescribed fire operations resume this week at Lake Tahoe

If conditions remain favorable, the Tahoe Fire and Fuels Team will resume prescribed fire operations this week at Lake Tahoe. The Nevada Division of Forestry and the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit are scheduled to burn hand piles on the East Shore beginning Tuesday, April 11.

VIRGINIA CITY/RENO, NV – St. Mary's Art Center is proud to present the opening reception of Meaning: The Search For, a large-scale solo exhibition by Las Vegas artist, Nancy Good, on Sunday, May 14, 2023, 1-4pm. The exhibition explores the range and evolution of Good’s contemporary work and features paintings, sculptural canvas, and murals. The exhibition is on view now through August 13, 2023.

DNA results used to identify remains of murdered woman found in 1990 near Battle Mountain

On Feb. 25, 1990, skeletal remains of an unidentified person were discovered by two hikers approximately 13 miles east of Battle Mountain, Lander County, Nev., in an area referred to as Hilltop Canyon. The remains could not be positively identified but were determined to be female. Over the years, multiple methods were used to identify the person, but were unsuccessful.
