The purpose of this form is to identify and inform the Assessor’s Office whether the residence is your primary residence, a vacation home (not rented), is family member occupied, or a rental.

Prescribed fire operations resume this week at Lake Tahoe

The Nevada Division of Forestry and the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit are scheduled to burn hand piles on the East Shore beginning Tuesday, April 11.

DNA results used to identify remains of murdered woman found in 1990 near Battle Mountain
Submitted by Jeff Munson on Mon, 04/10/2023 - 12:33pmOn Feb. 25, 1990, skeletal remains of an unidentified person were discovered by two hikers approximately 13 miles east of Battle Mountain, Lander County, Nev., in an area referred to as Hilltop Canyon. The remains could not be positively identified but were determined to be female. Over the years, multiple methods were used to identify the person, but were unsuccessful.
