Carson City music students constitute 40 percent of the NZNMEA Honor Choir, Band

The Northern Zone Nevada Music Educators Association held its annual Honor Choir and Honor Band auditions last month. More than 300 music students auditioned for the 4 groups made up of students from neighboring regions and school districts including Douglas, Dayton, Churchill and Yerington.

October 29, 2022 (All day) The Carson City Host Lions Club has been designated an official vendor of the Nevada Day Button. Lions will be selling the buttons again this year during the Nevada Day Parade for $2.

The Nevada Day Powwow will return on Oct. 28 at the Multi-Purpose Athletic (MAC) Center in Carson City after a two-year hiatus.

Though temperatures dropped Wednesday with a weak system sweeping the region, near average temperatures return for the rest of the week into Nevada Day weekend and Halloween with mostly sunny skies and mild, dry conditions, according to the National Weather Service.
