Nevada State Parks launches new Junior Ranger program

CARSON CITY — On Saturday, April 24, Nevada State Parks will launch a new Junior Ranger program to give Nevada’s kids an exciting new way to learn about the nature that surrounds them, whether it’s in their own backyard, or in a Nevada State Park.

A “Pie’d for Poverty” fundraiser is to be held Friday, April 30 at the Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery where residents can pie local Carson City leaders for the sake of raising funds for Friends in Service Helping, also known as FISH.
State environmental agency to convene no-cost mercury recycling events in rural counties across Nevada

Products that contain mercury must be disposed of properly, as these items can leak if they crack or break and pose health risks if ingested, inhaled, or if they come into contact with your skin.
Carson City releases plans to reopen, so long as social distancing can be met

Carson City has prepared a transition plan for reopening in a safe and monitored way throughout 2021 which includes stipulations for schools, indoor and outdoor events, casinos, and more.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, according to a Carson City sheriff's booking report.

Carson City Health and Human Services is reporting 2 COVID-19 related deaths, 62 new cases and 46 recoveries from Saturday, April 17 to Monday, April 19, 2021 in the Quad County region. The fatalities were reported Monday and are two Lyon County residents.
