Carson City Toyota Scion raffles 2014 Tacoma, proceeds benefit Nevada Wolf Pack

Dick Campagni's Carson City Toyota Scion is raffling a new 2014 Toyota Tacoma with 100 percent of the proceeds generated to go toward University of Nevada Wolf Pack football and basketball programs.

On March 8 during the Nevada vs. UNLV basketball game, the Pack will raffle off the new Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Access Cab V6, courtesy of the Northern Nevada Toyota Dealers.

On Thursday, February 20, from 10 am to 10 pm, Pizza Factory on HWY 50 East (775-882-9800) will be hosting Eagle Valley Day.

What that means is that the generous and gracious owners of the Pizza Factory will donate 20 percent of the entire day's earnings back to the Eagle Valley Middle School PTO to use toward purchasing CRT Snack for the entire student body.

On Wednesday, February 19, the Capital City Arts Initiative [CCAI] will present a talk by artist Julia Schwadron. Her illustrated talk, “You Are Here” is the next in CCAI’s Nevada Neighbors series.

The talk will take place at 7pm at the BRIC, 108 E Proctor St, Carson City. There will be an informal reception for Ms. Schwadron preceding the event at 6:15pm. The presentation and reception are free, and the public is cordially invited.

Carson City chamber luncheon speaker to address generational trends

Mike Brooks, an expert on generational shifts and economic, technological and political landscape trends will be the featured speaker Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Carson City Chamber of Commerce Soup's On! lunch.

Brooks is consultant and founder of Mission30, where he teaches executives how to evolve their business model by harnessing the power of story, authenticity and accountability.

Carson City Sheriff's Office announces two upcoming saturation patrols

The Carson City Sheriff's Office will conduct saturation patrols on Saturday, Feb. 22 and again on Friday, Feb. 28.

The saturation patrols will focus on speeding, inattentive driving, and other related issues which lead to car crashes, said Sgt. Scott McDaniel, who also noted there's been an uptick in crashes recently.
