Celebrate History of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce
Submitted by Molly Moser on Sat, 07/14/2012 - 3:07pmCelebrate the past Chamber Chairs who have been a part of Carson City’s community and history at the Carson City Chamber’s Annual Meeting on Monday, July 23 at the Silver Oak Golf Club.
The event begins at 5:30 P.M. with a no host cocktail reception, followed by a barbeque. At 7 P.M., the program begins installation of the 2012 – 2013 Board.
The cost of entrance is $45 per person, and it includes a commemorative book.
The event will be located at 1251 Country Club Drive and an RSVP is required before July 18. RSVP by calling 775-882-1565.

Thunderstorms and Red Flag Warning for Northern Nevada

This warning indicates that critical fire conditions may occur because of the harsh lightening that will follow up during tonight’s weather, along with light showers. The affected area for this kind of danger is within the west central portion of the Nevada Basin and range. The unstable weather is expected to last through Saturday.
Gov. Sandoval Says Many Questions Must Be Answered Before Medicaid Expansion Decision Can Be Made

“There’s no specific time schedule,” he said. “I mean I understand right now we’ve had the Supreme Court decision. Everyone has been waiting for that. I think there are still people that are trying to interpret it.
$3 Million Tourism Contract Approved By State Board, Funding Still In Limbo
Submitted by Nevada News Bureau on Fri, 07/13/2012 - 2:14pmCARSON CITY – The state Board of Examiners today approved a $3 million contract with an out-of-state firm to spearhead tourism efforts in Nevada after being told the selection process was thorough and fair.
The board, with members Gov. Brian Sandoval and Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto voting, approved the two-year contract with the California-based offices of Burson-Marsteller.
Carson City hosts annual Senior Follies production through weekend
